ALLAH MAHA BESAR: GIRL SURVIVES FALL FROM 10TH FLOOR OF POLICE QUARTERS
KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- A 13-year-old girl, the daughter of a policeman, escaped with a just a broken right leg and left hand after falling from the 10th floor of the police quarters in Taman Miharja, Cheras here today.
The girl is now receiving treatment at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre here and is reported to be in stable condition.
Cheras police chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh said the incident happened at 3.45pm just after the girl got home from school.
"Finding the door locked, the girl braved herself to climb in through the kitchen window along the stairway but slipped and fell," he told Bernama.
Mohan Singh said the girl was lucky to have fallen on a heap of old clothes kept nearby the surau used by the residents.
"The heap of clothes somewhat cushioned her fall and saved her from more serious injuries," he said, adding that residents who witnessed the incident rushed the girl to the medical centre.
